Easy Bake!
August 29, 2014
I'm having a "FOODIE" kind of day! I've been shopping and cooking most of today. I make an orange cake because it was a big hit last time I made this one. Kelli was excited about it anyway. David will be driving up to Marquette to get her and Luke sometime after his Greenbay run.
I got bananas for bread, peppers for my jambalaya. Deviled eggs for anyone who loves them. I stocked the freezer with weight watcher meals for me and Maggie. Then as David and I were eating dinner (taco hell) nachos with cheese to be exact, the new Schwans man came by and I ordered the golden fruit medley.
All this rain has put a big damper on our plans today. I was supposed to get Kelli's car cleaned out so we can get that up for sale. David was going to put his light bar on his van which never came yet. We were going to move some furniture into the spare room, but nope! It had to rain on our parade!
It sure is strange getting used to no kids in the house. I mean the animals keep me plenty busy but it still feels empty right now. I caught myself telling David to go ask Kelli something but then it clicked (right away) that she was not down in her room.
I find that I still very much enjoy my domestic side. Baking, keeping house, caring for animals, hubby. I like being here doing the things I need to keep an orderly, happy and loving home. I guess I am old school like that. The little extra money I earn here and there on the side helps a contribute in a small way too. It feels good to split the grocery bill three ways and know I earned my part too. :)
Maggie has been here one year now, a little over actually. She is working almost full time at the store and kept a few hours a week at the restaurant. She still loves living in the USA. She is still dating Bill. I think she is finding her place here and is comfortable doing so. I know we are very glad to have her here with us! :)
I am going to finish watching a few more episodes of Jackson Galaxy (cat man) and then wash up the dishes I left in the sink. Have a wonderful weekend if I don't make it back to blog before Sunday night!
