Our little Gully Bean was home from school for the weekend. It was kind of funny because she was so hungry, even her brother Chris commented on how odd it was to see her eating so many different things. She is truly a starving artist and college student.
I made a big breakfast for all of us before she left. Scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, juice and banana bread. We also sent some food back for all of them and yes, David kind of over did it with the hot dogs. I am pretty sure they are covered in that area until the first of the year.
It was a nice weekend. Chris and David carried the very heavy sofa sleeper into the spare room and I got it all set up, room cleaned and the beautiful rug Adam got me for Christmas last year in there too. Since we made this room a cat-fee-zone, I don't have to worry about them messing up that rug, it is a beautiful one that I have been hiding from the cats because they get it all hairy.
Traci and Dan never made it down It's too bad, it would have been nice to see my daughters engagement ring in person. Everyone else is seeing it but her mother, that's kind of disappointing. But from what I hear, everyone says its a beautiful ring.
Madison did not get time to have a practice this weekend which kind of sucked, not only was Kelli here but I MISS HEARING THE MUSIC! I just love sitting there on that little sofa in the practice room and watching everyone talking or working out the music, listening to the music, hearing Kevin singing, watching David play guitar and Kelli drumming. It's a beautiful thing watching your family working and playing together.
I love that my husband has such a high regard for our family and enjoys spending time working with, playing music or just plain hanging out with the kids and sometimes, their friends too. The kids all seem to respect this and don't really fuss about doing things with us. I am happy about this as this is my rewards to the work I put in raising them, now we to get to sit back, visit with and watch them enjoying their lives, it's very rewarding!
I was suppose to cut the grass today but that won't be happening. Where the heck is this rain coming from, again? I have a system and the rain is ruining it. Not to mention when I finally get out there to cut the grass it is going to be difficult since it has grown out so much. Oh the joys of summer's end.....
Before I sign off, thank you sister Maggie for helping me make breakfast today. I am so glad you figured out how to cut that crazy ass sausage and make it look normal. Thank you for cleaning the dishes afterward. You are truly a gem!
Have a great labor day off for those of you who are off..
