No Sleep!
September 4, 2014
It's 3am in the morning and I cannot sleep. David got a call that Chris and the trainee are stranded again. The truck that just got out of the garage leaving Chris stranded the night before due to faulty brakes, has just broke down again, this time a bigger problem.
David got two hours sleep when the phone call came in, he is now on his way to get my son. I will not sleep until I know they are both safe. I pray my husband does not fall asleep while driving the three hours to get them.
I feel bad for Floyd because of all the repairs on his vehicles, I feel bad for the drivers getting stranded and I feel bad for my husband driving out with hardly any sleep and then discovering he left the gas money envelope here. Double sad face!
I am going to try and get some sleep, doubtful though, I will update later this morning when I know everyone is where they are supposed to be.
G'night um, good morning!
UPDATE: It is now 9:30 am in the morning and David messaged me that Floyd sent him and Chris on to Milwaukee, both of them on very little sleep. David will probably drop Chris off in Greenbay on the way home. I hope the hell he does not fall asleep driving back here.
Will update later when I know what time he is coming home...
UPDATE: 10:49 am and David called. He has to sit in Greenbay after driving Chris back and wait until the truck in Sheboygan is done, then go get the truck and drop it off in GB, then take his van and head home. I am not a happy camper right now. I understand problems happen but it seems to be the drivers IN the Wisconsin area should be helping more with this.
Sigh! I am going to nap because I have been up too many hours and worried so I am becoming raw nerves right now.
I will write later when hopefully my husband is home!
UPDATE: 1:05 pm David just called and he is 46 minutes away and will be home very soon, no doubt tired and hungry. I am very happy David is available to help my son, I would not be too happy to know he is stranded and out there alone. Problem is, when David starts the new job, WHO is going to be around to get Chris if this happens again? Aunt Maggie said she would and I think she meant it. She has been such a huge help with transporting the kids here and there.
They are lucky to have such a devoted aunt!
I think I will roast a chicken and potatoes for dinner for my hard working husband. Don't worry Maggie, we will save you some too. IF I get to the store I will get apples and make a pie today too.
I am signing off now and will catch you all on my next blog. Chow for now!
