  Chirpy Little Bird!

September 12, 2014

My little BeBe is chirping his head off today. Maggie and I had errands to run this morning so I left some soothing piano music on while we were gone. I think he is protesting now that I am back home. He is much more of a Rock n Roll kind of bird. I will post a head shot of my little chirpier at the end of this blog.

Yesterday I got a lot done in the house. I scrubbed floors, washed clothes, cleaned kitty areas. Cleaned the furniture, vacuumed the cat room and climber. I thought I was going to have an asthma attack but I did not, so cool that it was not an issue! :)

I made a delicious dinner for me and David which he kept telling me he liked while he was eating it. I'm finding cooking very enjoyable now that I have much more time to focus on preparing good meals. Cooking has become a thing of relaxation for me these days. I even made an extra dinner for Maggie and drove it over to her work so she didn't miss out. She always works late hours at the store now, missing dinner always happens for her.

Anything exciting? Not really. David is trying to finish his van and he is being pressured to just get out and do this. The person applying the pressure may be doing so in a joking way, I'm really not sure, or he is serious. None the less, David is not bringing in enough money in the shop and all of what he makes goes for our chunky house payment, utilities, building rent plus those utilities, food, gasoline, insurance.

The money left over for fixing the van is scarce. He is trying the best he can to get this all done. Building most of the stuff himself so he can save a buck. I am starting to worry they will dump him and find someone else and then where will he be, a outfitted van and no work. OUCH! I didn't mean to sound like I'm pressuring him too. I'm just starting to worry a little that this will backfire on him.

People have a very hard time understanding self employment for many reasons I suppose. It might be easy to expect us to do things the same as those not self employed, but that is extremely unrealistic. If you don't get a customer, you don't get a dollar. We don't have a pay check coming every two weeks to depend on. If we take a vacation, we don't get paid. Were sick, no money that day. All money that does come in goes strait to bills and nothing else. It is hard to be self employed, most especially in this small area we live.

Nothing glorified about self employment. So I hope this person stops and thinks about this a little and cuts David some slack. He really is trying his hardest to get out there. I should know, I see it daily when he goes from driving a van of patients to their hospital appointments all day long to coming home dead tired and going out to work on his van until the late hours in the night, then comes in for the night and works on website stuff for the business before he goes to sleep. The man has very little down time.

Ending on a good note, the kids should be coming home this weekend but I am not sure. I never hear anything until the last minute. Chris is home though, he came in this morning and is still not feeling too good. He told me and Maggie he was going to go home and sleep until tomorrow. Everyone is getting sick and it is so early for all this stuff to start going around. I am going to have David get a flu shot this year since he is on the road so much.

Well, here is the picture of my bird, BeBe....  he is a very sweet little parakeet...
