  Jinx!

October 2, 2014

I have been so busy that I'm not sure if I mentioned that our cat Jinx had to have surgery? Well in case I didn't say anything, he did have surgery yesterday. He is home resting and seems to be doing well. They had intended on removing one tumor and actually found three tumors in his mouth. There were two tumors on one side of his mouth and one on the other side. Poor Jinx, he was though a lot with his mouth over the last couple of years.

They did a complete blood panel and for a ten year old cat, she commented on how good of shape he is in. All blood tests were normal with the exception of one. He has a marker for feline cancer. I wonder if any of the tumors were malignant? I guess we wont ever know, but we do know they will come back at some point in his life. We got some medication to give him for life that will inhibit tumor growth. It is my hope that these tumors don't come back at all, but if they do return, then much later in life so he can enjoy more time and less pain.

Two cats have ear mites too, Jinx and Mooch of course. I checked all the other cats and no signs of ear mites. I am trying to figure out how my cats got ear mites to begin with since they are strictly indoor cats only.

Mooch is our senior cat may be in kidney failure. I guess now that some of the cats are so aged they are going to start having issues like these. It gets hard some days watching Mooch, he seems okay some days but other days he is confused, looking lost and sleeping a lot. Not the Mooch I remember that's for sure. undecided

David has been crabby and frustrated for the last two days and I am not sure why. He does not want to talk about it. I think he is getting over worked and over whelmed. He drives continuously with very little down time. He just came back from a Texas run and went right back into driving for Floyd. I know he likes driving for Floyd but he does not like the changes. He loves driving clients but this week he has been doing odd jobs, things he is not comfortable doing.

Sigh...... anyone with a 9-5 job and a steady two week pay check, count your blessings. You have no idea how hard it it out there to make a living being self employed!

Looks like rain today but either way it wont matter to me. I will be busy mopping floors. I also want to ge into the garage and start getting that more organized or my outdoor cats, Blaze and Mama!

Have a good day people!
