Jelly Beans!
October 5, 2014
Baby girl came home this weekend to see her mama :) okay, to see all of us. I can share a little.
I feels like a long time since she was home but we are happy she is here. It was good to see her behind her drums again too. Speaking of band practice... That did not go so well.
Two of the horn section people never showed up and the one that did pretty much told us we wasted his time. Then went on to treat us like we were students in his classroom and told everyone to go home and practice the songs before we come in and muddle though them. Um I bit my tongue even though I wanted to say something. I am proud of myself because my mouth usually opens before I know what I am saying.
But that was kind of annoying. I am sure he never meant anything derogatory in saying this but come on, practice happens the way it does for a reason. We are not a classroom band, we are not a super structured band in the sense of city or jazz. We do things the way we do for a reason. Perhaps it is time to sit everyone down and explain this, again!
I don't like anyone telling the band we are wasting their time, kind of rude of you ask me. There are better ways to get a point across without making everyone feel uncomfortable.
I made everyone a big breakfast today. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, juice and a medley of fresh fruit. Maggie is bringing Kelli back home now, Chris just left to head back to GB and now it is just me and David for dinner. I ALREADY MISS THEM ALL!
THANK YOU ADAM FOR THE BOTTLES AND CANS!!!!!!!!! Wendy will be very happy to see these and you helped with one cats spay and neuter or pain shots. I appreciate your caring enough to share them for this very important cause.
David is getting his van ready for his next run. I will post a picture here and then I am off to get some dinner. Hope everyone is having a fantastic fall day!
He built a platform for his bed and a dresser next to it. A place under the bed for all his flags and first aid kits, flashlights, poles and other gear he will need on the road. He has one more storage container to build and then he is finished. Now we just wait for John to call him back out. Good job babe!
