  Shuttle Mama!

December 30, 2014

Mom said the sun was going to be out again today, she was right. I know if the sky is pink that we will have warm weather, but she was looking at the sky later in the day and told us all that the sun would be out and she was right. I am not exactly clear what she was looking at because I didn't see anything to indicate this, but she was right.

David took his mom on his shuttle runs to Wisconsin today so she can see what he does when he is not escorting wind towers out west. She seemed very excited to be going and unscathed by the fact she had to be ready to leave the house at 5am. I think just spending the day with her son is what she was really looking forward to doing.

I'm sitting here enjoying the beautiful curtains mom and Maggie got for our bedroom. I will try and grab a snap shot to post here. The lighting in this bedroom is so bright that I am not sure I can capture the true colors. Nope, they came out looking tan colored, when they are actually a soft gray.  But at least you can see the pattern.

Well, this is the best it gets for now. We love them!

Finally, me and David joined a plan and now have health insurance. Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The last time I had health insurance was before my divorce and I couldn't afford $365 a month for the Cobra plan they offered me after the divorce. I was a single mom with four kids at home and a minimum wage job. No way was that going to fly for me financially.

I am thankful for the financial assistance the hospital provided during the period of time I needed the help. Being diagnosed with Diabetes and having to deal with meter's and strip cost was not fun. Although, I find Asthma is way more costly than Diabetes, at least for me. Now we are talking about nebulizer machines, tubing costs, inhalers, steroids and the medicines that the machine uses.

What I need to do is get off my arse and get moving again. My weight watchers was going so well and then I dropped out. I had a bad year and pretty much ate my way though it. Seriously, me and David were ready to pack up our life and leave this town behind us. Things got that rough and tough for all of us.

But I guess we are here to stay. David has a two year plan and then we want to bring back the business to full speed again. Right now? we are idling by and plan to be for a little while. We will continue to do the web portion of our business because that can be done on the road, but the signs/advertising will be on hold for this time period. If our plan pans out, we will be in a good place with our business. In the meantime we are building capital and knowledge to come back full force. We may have a few surprises as well. Remember, I am married to the Multi-Purpose Man!

Time to get my move on..... ;)  House needs attention, so do the kitty cats. I am going to clean their room because the cat hair is starting to layer on the climbers and chair in the cat room. Christmas plus flu equals very neglected cat room!

Love to my family.... and friends....
