  Madison Avenue Reborn...

July 15, 2014

First time playing out in almost one year!  It was a rocky start but the guys got it all together. I was stressed all night and actually did not enjoy the evening.

The first song went so wrong, super loud, blew breakers and possibly the power conditioner.  Then, right on schedule just like at the Duck races, I get told the music is too loud and to go tell them to turn it down. I did not tell them because I knew something went horribly wrong on stage and I also knew they were working on fixing it. People, please just sit in your seats and let the musicians fix their issues, they heard them too and know something is wrong.

Next issue is Kevin and David had too much to drink and you could tell. David stood up on stage with this Cheshire cat grin that never ended, way out of character for him. Kevin was dancing on stage and engaging the audience and adding longer notes at the end of songs.

The very nice but EXTREMELY chatty lady sat next to me and talked non stop, mostly complaining about another lady dancing to the music. Then the horns were very loud and at one point its all I heard. Thank you Kyle for fixing that issue.

Jim F breaks out his flute AND guitar in the middle of the band playing and he was not even on stage yet and when he was, his microphone cut out for most of his song. There was just no relaxing for me.

BUT, everyone else was having a lot of fun, dancing, singing. Wendy was getting lots of good feedback from the audience. In fact, despite the cool and wet weather there was a huge turnout of people. Some people didn't even think we could be local. That was the best comment of all.... :)

Next shows, Manistique tomorrow, Cancer walk Saturday, Marina in August and another one at Eagles Club end of August. My sons band is also fully booked for the month of August. So another fast summer with keeping so busy.

I will leave you with a picture, and as Kevin says so eloquently, 'We are, MADISON AVENUE!" Have a good night everyone!
